About Us

Aldea is a not-for-profit centre for contemporary art, cultural practice and technology, based at C. Sundts gate 55 in Bergen. We help artists, designers and the public work with new technology — both as a tool to make things with, and as a subject worth thinking about.

Aldea was founded in 2017 by Cameron MacLeod, with co-founder Magnhild Øen Nordahl. We are part cultural centre, part innovation hub.

Workshops

Bridging technical education and creative practice

Our workshops are open to everyone. They teach the practical skills behind the technologies that shape culture today.

Classes range from beginner introductions to advanced sessions: programming and creative coding, digital fabrication, electronics, animation, game design, and newer fields like XR and machine learning. Each class is taught by someone who works in that field.

We think art and technology are best understood together, so our instructors teach from both an artistic and a design point of view.
